Preparing to go live
MMC will now integrate your shopping cart with your Sagepay account. We estimate that this process will take around 7 to 14 days.
If you intend on processing Maestro cards (previously Switch) you will require the
3D authentication system. The 3D system (a combination of "Verify by Visa" and "Master Code") is the process of requiring a customer to enter a password to verify their card credentials when making an online purchase. The scheme is gradually being adopted by all the card providers, but is a mandatory requirement before you can start processing Maestro cards.
During the account setup phase (7-14 days), we will request that Protx add the 3D secure service to your account. Protx in turn request the 3D details from your bank, which takes around 14 working days and should run alongside the setting up of your Protx account.
Mandatory requirements to one side, the 3D secure system does offer you as the e-trader, a much improved level of fraud protection and is a must in today’s E-Commerce environment.
